A new illustrated edition, in original dustwrapper, of Bevis, a semi-autobiographical adventure story by nature writer Richard Jefferies (1848-1887). First published in 1882 as a more grounded sequel to his earlier fantasy novel, Wood Magic: A Fable (1881), this edition is furnished with engravings by eminent book-illustrator E. H. Shephard (1879-1976), universally recognised for his work illustrating iconic children's tales such as The Wind in the Willows and Winnie the Pooh.
